The inspiration for the necklace came from the huge culture shock from being dragged to a totally different country. Generating a love and respect for my own roots and heritage that only became so important to me once I had left it behind. The desire to hold something close to one self to remind them of what’s been left behind is an emotion that most people can relate to. It is very important to me to be proud of my Finnish roots.
